29 Nov Biggest Fundraising Target Yet!

We have set ourselves an ambitious target of raising over £6,000 before the end of the year in memory of several regulars lost recently to cancer, and we need your help!

As you know, we raise money for good causes every year; this year the beneficiary will be the Sunrise Appeal to improve oncology facilities at RCH Treliske – we want to raise as much money as possible to improve the prognosis and quality of life for cancer sufferers in Cornwall.

We have already raised a significant amount, but are determined to go one-better this year and hand over our biggest charity cheque to-date.

This will be achieved through sales of house ale Spars (10p of every pint sold goes to the cause) and a Christmas Raffle supported by local businesses; tickets are available here at the pub at 50p each, and the draw will be made on Sunday 22^nd December.

The next few weeks are also the last opportunity for you to purchase your copy of The Driftwood Spars Charity Calendar 2020, which has been a big hit!

The calendar, which features our fabulous female staff and regulars baring (nearly!) all, ‘Calendar Girls style’, in various locations in and around the pub, is £10 and thanks to sponsorship from local businesses the full amount goes straight into the charity pot.

Now is the time to snap up the last copies of the calendar for family and friends. It’s a great stocking filler and a good gift for people who love St Agnes – locals and visitors alike.

With just a few weeks left to go the race is on to reach the target, but we’re confident we’ll get there. The community spirit in Aggie is fantastic and we know people will rally around and help us achieve our goal. For the local families who’ve lost loved ones to cancer the fundraising has given them a focus and something positive to put their energy into, so we already feel there has been a community benefit to our efforts.
