Shortlisted For ‘Champion Beer of Britain’!

We are thrilled to announce that The Driftwood Spars Brewery has reached the final stages of the CAMRA Champion Beer of Britain Awards, with one of our beers fighting it out for the ultimate accolade.

The winners will be announced at the Great British Beer Festival at Olympia in London on 6th August.

It’s the second year in a row that our beloved microbrewery has made it through to the final judging; last year Lou’s Brew was shortlisted, just missing out on a medal.

Head Brewer Pete and Landlady Louise will be travelling to the festival to hear the winners announced.

We’re not allowed to reveal which beer has been shortlisted yet, or which category it falls in, but we’re really pleased to have made it this far in such a huge competition.

It’s particularly gratifying to be shortlisted as we converted all Driftwood Spars Brewery beers to gluten free earlier this year. This recognition from the beer experts at CAMRA confirms what we already knew – that the taste of our beers is as good as ever!

The Champion Beer of Britain is one of the most prestigious beer competitions in the world; it is the ultimate honour for UK brewers.

Judging takes almost a year, with thousands of entries whittled down to just a handful, and the eventual winners chosen by a panel of industry experts at the Great British Beer Festival.

Fingers crossed!
