Raise a toast to autumn (and Lou!) at our beer & music festival

We’re gearing up to host our annual autumn beer and music gathering at the end of October, and we think you’ll love the line-up!

The event traditionally heralds the start of cosy season here at the pub, and all and sundry are welcomed in from the cold for seasonal brews, heart-warming food, foot-stomping live music and the welcoming embrace of a true community pub.

She’s never needed an excuse for a party…

Named Lou-Lapalooza this year in honour of our legendary Landlady Louise Treseder, the mini-festival will take place 25th – 27th October; entry is free for all to come and go as they please, with exhilarating sea swims or cobweb-blowing stomps on the coast path in between visits highly recommended.

Shenanigans kick off with six-piece band Black Friday on 25th, described as “an unstoppable mix of high-energy, home-brewed folk-punk, and Celtic tunes that will have you dancing all night long.”

Then at 5pm on Saturday, traditional songs of the sea and shanties will be belted out in true Cornish style by the much-loved Aggie Boys Choir.

Later on Saturday, The Mighty Howlers will take to the stage with their rich and punchy sound spanning various influences, including Rockabilly, Rock Classic, and Rock Blues.

Finally on Sunday 27th, Jenna Witts will provide the soundtrack for a soulful Sunday Lunch session with her blend of folk and country, deeply inspired by life on the southwest coast.

Inside, hydration will be on-hand at our atmospheric Main Bar, as well as a guest beer bar featuring in-house brews and a curated selection from other local brewers including Harbour, Atlantic, Firebrand and Mason Brewing.

Head Brewer Tim Lawrence has some top tips to look out for.

“We’ll have a cask of Polberro, our green hopped beer made with local wild hops, as well as a fresh batch of Irish Stout which has been going down extremely well. Lou and I got together and brewed a 9% Belgian Triple specially for the occasion, which all festivalgoers should definitely try!”

Chef Tom Bennetts and our kitchen team will be serving seasonal specials showcasing local produce throughout the weekend alongside hearty pub classics, providing perfect autumnal nourishment – table bookings for lunch and dinner are recommended throughout the weekend.

Outside,  The Crib Shack will be serving a warming array of alcoholic and non-alcoholic hot chocolates.

The event is (possibly!) Louise’s last beer festival at the pub, so it’s the perfect opportunity to come and raise a glass with this amazing lady who will be sorely missed.

See you there!
